{ Coal Tubin' }

On Saturday 8.11 we decided to go Coal Tubin' on the Stoneycreek.  We had heard about this some time ago, and thought it would be something different to do.  We had a great time! We did the "lower run" due to lower water levels, but we did the run 3 times.  We had to wade out knee-deep (now singing the Zac Brown Band song in my head) into the water to get into the tubes and paddle a bit with our arms to get going...same to get out.  It was so calm and relaxing...and quiet, floating down the river.  You could definitely forget you were in Johnstown...we even saw a deer on the river bank.  Minimal drama occured, Ava fell out of her tube close to the shore, but her tube was tied to Tim's so her hauled her out right away (note: she was wearing a life jacket :) ) and Tim lost one of his Crocs in the rescue, which went drifting down river...luckily he was able to catch up with it and retrieve it!  We highly recommend Coal Tubin' and will definitely will be doing this again...would be perfect on a hot, sunny day to catch some rays!
