Andy & Ava on the beach at Shawnee...

We booked our campsite at Shawnee back in January for the 4th of July holiday..hoping to camp Wednesday night through Sunday afternoon...it didn't quite turn out that way, but we still had fun!  Andy's Arbutus all-star team had a game Friday at 5:30, so we had to leave the campsite early (with a stop at Tussey Mountain Mulch to pick up a patio table that we had ordered)...they won that game against Conemaugh Valley 14-0.  So we headed back down to the camper, just in time for a thunderstorm!  We were not to have a game until Monday evening at 8 pm...great!... we could finish out our trip...but no, we get an email Saturday that our game has been moved to Sunday at noon...fantastic.  So we ended up packing up the campsite and heading out Sunday morning by 7:30 am for a breakfast stop at Perkins, home to unleash the camper, and have Andy rest for a bit before the game, as he would be the starting pitcher.  He threw over 90 pitches; unfortunatley we lost the game against Ebensburg 11 - 8.  So much for a laid-back relaxing camping trip!!  We did have a great time, though.  The weather was very hot and humid.  We got to some programs at the amphitheatre and Shawnee had fireworks over the lake for the very first time and they were fantastic!  We got to the beach on Saturday, had campfire cones, and spent a lot of time in the camper for air conditioning!
