{ Timber !!! }

It truly is an enormous tree!

The "before" picture.

Thg last remaining branches.

Almost gone!

Hauling away the timber.

The "after" view without the tree!

Behind the pond, on the corner of our neighbor's property stood a very large (gigantic really) cherry tree.  When we had our smaller pond last year, the cherries fell off in the fall and poluted our pond, making it a murky mess, not to mention the hundreds of leaves that fell from the tree into our yard.  But to make matters worse, the township came through the property last summer and put in new water lines, digging directly at the base of this enormous tree.  Before we would sign our approval, we had it stipulated that that tree would be removed, as the root system would be severely compromised with the digging...which was agreed upon.  Needless to say, the water lines went in and the tree remained!  We took it upon ourselves, with the consent of our neighbor on who's property the tree stands, to have it cut down, to prevent any future damage.  The company who cut it down did find significant rot on the side of the digging and stated that it was beginning to die on that side, which made us feel better that we did have it removed.  The remaining timber was massive, so we called someone from a concrete company looking for wood to burn, and he came and hauled it all away..yes!!  Now the view is much different, the pond will be much cleaner, and we feel much safer!
