unexpected road trip

Tim and I were sitting at Chili's on Friday after work

I follow the Cape May Brewing Company on Facebook and they posted that Two Mile Landing was having their first annual Crab and Craft Beer festival... i mentioned to Tim that this would so much fun... he said "let's go"...very funny I thought, don't tease...

we were on the road to Cape May at midnight with the trunk packed to the gills for one night...

arrived in Cape May at 5:30 am... pulled into a parking lot to close our eyes for an hour...

breakfast at the Blue Pig Tavern... incredible as always... even though Ava had a melt down, refused to eat, cried.. the sympathetic waiter brought her a chocolate chip cookie, which she refused to eat..really?

shopping at the Washington Street Mall... yes, got another CM sweatshirt because you can never, ever have enough CM clothing..

fudge kitchen fudge for Andy...

paddle ball competition on the beach.. i declare myself the unofficial champion..Andy won't read this, I'm sure :)

gorgeous weather... sunny and warm... little crowds...and found a cheap efficiency hotel room that was available for one night...

dinner at Two Mile Landing with craft beer tastings... face painting and balloon animals for Ava...

Cape May Brewing Company...first time there... kids waited in the "lobby" with their iPads while we sampled a brew or two...better than in the car with the windows cracked, right?

ran into the Ugly Mug before they were even open so the kids could sit in the booth with the wooden sign that is our tradition...

an absolutely fun, relaxing, and unplanned weekend that gave us beautiful memories...
