Kiawah Island Beach

shopping on Kiawah Island

today was very busy... left early to go to Kiawah Beach (got there at 10:20 am...had to beat the crowds)...stayed until 1-ish...

stopped to shop in a little village by Kiawah Beach.. all kinds of awesome little shops...

visited the Angel Oak tree.. all of the websites vary as to its age..some say 400 years old while others say 1400 years old?  No matter how old it is, it is stunning.. I have never in my life seen a tree so large and impressive... the trunk was gigantic and then the branches that were coming off of it were so large that supports have been placed under many of them to reinforce them, plus cables hang from above to also offer additional support... pictures cannot do this massive and spectacular tree justice!

headed toward Folly Beach, as Heather (our realtor and now friend) invited us to dinner with herself and her parents at Bowen's Island Restaurant..

grabbed a little flatbread appetizer at the Island Grill to tide us over...

met Heather, her son Reid and daughter Lilly Beth, and her mom and dad for dinner... HUGE portions, but very good...very causal and beachy...right on the water..

great day in the sun with friends!
