saturday ski trip

on saturday, januaray 31 we took a ski trip to hidden valley...

twilight tickets (1-9pm)... nice conditions, good snow, and not too cold...

ava slopped through a massive puddle/lake in the parking lot while unloading our equipment + soaking wet ski socks that i literally could wring water out of = a new $14 pair of socks from the ski shop so she wouldn't lose her feet to frostbite while skiing for the next 5 hours! ...

we all made some pretty good runs... andy has been going with ski club, so he was good to go; tim and i had not been skiing in 2 years (since he tore his knee at blue knob in feb/2013).. but we found out we could still ski pretty well...

about 2 hours in, ava's feet were too cold...crying, tears, whining... so she and tim ended up going in the lodge for a bit to get her settled while andy and i made a few runs together...

eventually they came back out and we were all able to ski a few more runs... no falls getting off of the lift, no major wipe-outs (ava only had one or two small falls...great job!)...

a great day together with a nice meal at TGIF's in somerset on the way home...

slept like a baby!
